Today

Hydro-Québec’s electricity comes almost entirely from renewable sources operated in Québec, either by the utility itself or by independent producers, and from the hydroelectricity produced by Churchill Falls generating station, located in Labrador, in which Hydro-Québec holds an interest. Less than 1% of the electricity consumed in Québec comes from other sources.

Tomorrow

In response to climate challenges, the world is taking action and investing massively in the energy transition. With its renewable energy, Québec is in an enviable position, but we must continue to decarbonize while creating wealth and meeting our customers’ needs. Hydro-Québec’s Action Plan 2035 – Towards a Decarbonized and Prosperous Québec will make it possible to meet expected growth in electricity demand and offer customers a reliable, simple and affordable service.

Energy Generation and Purchases

Our operations support thousands of jobs and stimulate the economic vitality of regions across Québec. Our contribution to the Québec government’s revenue stood at $4.0 billion in 2024.
